Lombok is an island between Bali to the west and Sumbawa to the east. It is located in the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. It is part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying in the Lombok Strait between Bali and Alas Strait between Sunbawa.
The island has an area size of 4,725 km2 (1,824.3 sq mil) with a population of approximately, 3.1 million inhabitants. The island itself is 70 km across and is circular in shape with a ‘tail,’ known as the Sekotong Peninsula to the southwest.
The approximate distance from Bali is small, about 35 km’s (22 miles) and can be reached by either sea or air.
